Captain’s June Update

Dear Fellow Members

Thank you to those members who have been enquiring about my health. To give you a brief update my chemotherapy has now finished, and I am awaiting surgery. This mean’s I may be at the course less than I would like. However, I was very pleased to finish 4th in Division 1 of the CR Angus Open.

Notices have been put up in the trolley store requesting members to move their trolleys to the right-hand side of the storage area. We will then be removing several of the partitions and widening the doorway to allow the storage of members sit on trolleys. If any members are interested in renting one of these new spaces, please contact the office.

The irrigation system has now been commissioned and the greens are benefiting from the new system in this current warm dry spell. The overwhelming feedback is how good the course is looking and how well it is playing.

The club will be hosting the South Division Jamboree on June 17, 18 & 19 2023. Please note there will be no play prior to this competition teeing off. This applies to all 3 competition days.

Due to the poor and worsening condition of the hut at the 9th tee the Committee have taken the decision to dismantle it. More details to follow on any potential replacement.

The Committee have received several complaints regarding the amount of swearing both in the clubhouse and on the course. Can I remind members and visitors that swearing is not acceptable on the course or in the clubhouse.

Regards

Colin Shields
