Captain November Update

Dear Fellow Members

Over the last few weeks, I have had the good fortune to attend the Otters, Ladies and Gents price giving evenings. It was good to see all the events so well attended. The overwhelming feedback from attendees was how good the food was. Thank you to Martin and his team for all their hard work on these nights and throughout the season.

This year’s subscription details have now been sent. If you haven’t received yours, please contact the office. A reminder that locker fees are due to be paid by 30 November 2022.

The irrigation work has been progressing well and should be finished in early November. As if we needed proof that Mother Nature has a sense of humour in October, we had rain fall on 29 out of 31 days.

Given the softness of the greens and fairways it is even more important that players repair their divot & pitch marks and do not take trolleys or buggies across tees, greens, or fringes. Please ensure you allow quicker playing groups the courtesy of playing through whether in general play or in competitions rounds.

George Corbett and I had a meeting with the caravan site owners. Following our discussion, they are investigating erecting a netting fence on their side. We have asked that the club be invited to attend any meeting on this subject.

October saw the return of Quiz Nights and food theme evenings. Mexican Night and the quiz were both well attended. Thank you to everyone who attended. There is a 70’s & 80’s theme disco & karaoke due to take place on Saturday 26 November 2022. The next quiz takes place on Friday 2 December 2022.

During November the clubhouse catering will open at 9am Monday-Friday trialling a breakfast menu. Details available on the website.
