Captain Update March 15

Dear Members.

The new Golfing Season is almost upon us and we have made some changes to enable the internal club competitions to run as smoothly as possible, even though the shop and bar remain closed due to the ongoing Global Pandemic. You will be aware of the new online payment system that we have introduced, and thanks go to those who have already put money into their BRS Competition Purse. This all bodes well for the new season.

As most of you are probably aware, Iain Cameron (greenkeeper) will be leaving Powfoot Golf Club to become the Head Greenkeeper at Moffat Golf Club.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank Iain for his service to Powfoot Golf Club and wish him all the best for the future.

Gents Opening Day will be run as a 4BBB Stableford Competition.  Entry is only available via BRS booking system and you will need to have credit in your Money Purse to enter this competition. The bookings for the competition will open today at 18.29. The bookings for the Ladies Opening day competition will open on Friday 19 March at 18.29.

I have arranged “weather permitting” complimentary food and light refreshments on the course behind the 10^th green with our Caterer, Martin and his partner Paulina. Hopefully we can manage a quick bite and a drink after finishing the 10^th hole, moving on swiftly to the eleventh tee once you have been fed and watered.  It is imperative that the group ahead has moved away from the refreshment point before the next group goes up to be catered for. I have also arranged complimentary food and light refreshment for the Ladies in the afternoon.  The same common-sense rules apply as above.

It was fantastic to have some catering laid on this last weekend by Martin and Paulina. The takeaway station proved to be very popular and from my own experience can say that the food provided was excellent and real value for money. Well done guys and I wish you every success for your future at Powfoot Golf Club.
