Captain Update March 2024

Dear Fellow Members

Thank you to those who attended the club AGM in February and for giving me the honour of becoming the new Club Captain.

I would like to thank George, Allan, Stephen, and Liam for their work over the winter. To describe the weather as challenging this winter would be an understatement.

As we all prepare for the golf season to start, please do not become complacent during your play at the golf club. It is every players responsibility to replace divots, rake the bunker, repair pitch marks, put rubbish in the bin etc. during their round.

Suppliers’ costs continue to rise across all areas of the business. We continually look to get value for money from our suppliers, however, some price increases in the bar and shop are inevitable for the coming season. The Committee will attempt to keep these increases as low as practicable.

We will be hosting the Scottish Girls Open Championship in April. We are still looking for volunteers for this event. The club have arranged some courtesy times for members at local courses. Please contact the office for details. The club will host a Golf in Scotland event on Saturday 22 June. More details to follow.

The fixtures book for 2024 are with the printers. Members will be emailed when they are ready to collect.

This year’s Gents opening day competition will be a Shotgun 4BBB starting at 9am on Saturday March 23. Later in the day at 2pm the Ladies will start their 2024 Season. Good luck to everyone for the coming season.
