Captain Update October

As we move out of the summer golfing season, I would like to thank George and his team for the condition and presentation of the course this year. The overwhelming feedback I have received has been positive.

As you know in September Maria & Sean left the club. Since then, the Committee have been actively recruiting. As seems to be the case for many golf clubs we didn’t get the applicants we thought suitable to take on the Catering & Steward roles as a couple.

The Committee have decided to split the roles and we will now be recruiting a club paid cook to provide the catering.

I am pleased to announce that Josh will be taking on the role of Steward at the club. We have also recruited 3 new part time members of staff to support the office and clubhouse.

I’m sure you will join me in wishing them every success in their new roles.

Members should continue to report any incidents of golf balls being hit into the caravan site adjacent to the 2^nd hole to the office.

This winter golfers will again have the option of playing with mats from the fairways or lift and place to the side. Full details attached.  Winter Rules 2025

Planned winter works details have been posted on the Gents and Ladies notice boards. The work is subject weather and changes as required.

Please ensure that you replace all divots and repair pitch marks as you find them. Those members who have been using the divot bags have made significant in roads to the state of our fairways this year and it is much appreciated by the committee and staff. There are still some free bags available in the office for members.

A divot morning will take place on Wednesday the 5^th November from 09:00 this will ensure the fairways are in top condition for the start of the season.

Finally, the renewals for the 2025/26 season have been processed. Lockers should be paid before the end of November.
