Captains August Update

Dear Fellow Members

Thank you to all the club volunteers for their help during Golf Week. I would also like to highlight and praise the effort that goes on behind the scenes from the Greens and Office Staff to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible. Thank you to Martin and the Clubhouse Staff for keeping all the golfers well fed and watered during the 5 days.

We have 4 more Open Competitions to play this season. Please contact the office if you can volunteer as a starter.

In September the club will be hosting the Scottish Men’s Area Team Championship Finals. This is another prestigious national competition being held at your club and highlights once again the quality of your course.

The clubhouse terminal has been updated to allow members to enter General Play scores on it. Details on what to do are on display next to the terminal.

The work on the new irrigation system will commence in early October. More details to follow.

Now 2 points I must address as Captain.

I have had reports of several near misses on the access road to the course. Please drive cautiously when arriving at or leaving the club and be considerate of other road users. Secondly, members must treat the clubs’ employees with respect. If a member wishes to get involved in the organisation and running of the club, they can apply to join the management Committee. You can also write to the Management Committee if you have any ideas, you would like them to discuss.
