Captain’s March Update

Thank you to those who attended the club AGM in February and for giving me the honour of becoming the new Club Captain.

I would like to thank George, Allan, Stephen, and Liam for their work over the winter. The work carried out during these months is all for the future benefit of your course.

Earlier this year the club invested in divot bags for the course. This has been very successful and the club will be purchasing additional bags. Members interested in helping should contact the office.

We have seen a good increase in club membership over the winter. As a courtesy to all members if you book a tee time and your plans change, please delete the booking to allow others the opportunity to play.

On the course ensure you allow quicker playing groups the courtesy of playing through. Please do not become complacent during play at the club. It is every players responsibility to replace divots, rake the bunker, repair pitch marks, put rubbish in the bin etc. during their round.

As you know the sales of alcohol at many clubs have been in decline for several years. As a result, we will be changing the bar draft delivery system from a cellar layout to a double kegerator unit. Work has also started updating the dining room in the clubhouse. More details to follow on these projects.

The fixtures book for 2025 are with the printers. This year the South of Scotland Golfers Association have not provided a list of the area open competitions. Details of these can be found on their website.  Members will be emailed when the fixture books are ready to collect.

This year’s Gents opening day competition will be a Shotgun 4BBB starting at 9am on Saturday March 22. Later in the day at 2pm the Ladies will start their 2025 Season. Good luck to everyone for the coming season.
