Captains Update

As we draw to the end of the 2024 summer golfing season on behalf of the Committee and members, I would like to thank George and his team for their continued hard work. Also, thank you to the volunteers for their work throughout the season with the greens team. The definition and presentation of the course has been continually praised throughout the year.

Some numbers on the rainfall-

  • Year to date we have had 1141mm of rainfall at the course.
  • This compares to 928mm in the same period for 2023.
  • The average annual rainfall is 1100mm.
  • We have already passed this mark with over 3 months left to go.

The club have set up a new reciprocal agreement with Hendon Golf Club. If you book to play there please make them aware that you are a member of Powfoot Golf Club and they will advise you on the discounted rate.

The car chargers are available to use. Club members interested in using the facility should contact the office for details. Visitors using the chargers will be using an app to charge and pay.

Can I remind members that dogs at the course must be kept on a leash.

We are hosting a charity race night for Friday 29 November 2024. Tickets, race sponsorship forms etc will be available for members to purchase from the bar. Ticket will be £5 each and include Pie & Peas,

Please continue to respect your course. Repair divots and pitch marks. Respect the golfer behind rake the bunkers and replace the rake correctly. Keep trolleys and buggies off the aprons, greens and tees. Course etiquette should be extended to all other players.

Regards

Les Holliday
