Dear Fellow Members
Thank you for your continued support of me, the Committee and the club.
A favourite topic of all golfers is the weather. This year we have had several glorious spells of weather and some not so glorious. The course is in fantastic condition. I hear compliments from members and visitors alike on this. Thanks to George and his team for their continued hard work.
Please continue to report instances of golf balls being hit into the caravan site at the 2nd hole.
As you know the club have taken the catering inhouse this year. James is continually looking at the clubhouse food offer and is updating the menu regularly as he develops the role.
Josh has been developing the bar range, and we have moved our main supplier to HB Clark. Additionally, Josh & Lynn have been joined Tomasz, Mirren & Tallie in the clubhouse.
Over the last few years, we have made various improvements to the clubhouse and bar area. However, we feel there is still room for improvement. More details to follow.
After 10 years, Steven Burgess is giving up his role of Match Secretary. I am sure you will join me in thanking him for all the hard work he has put in at the club. If you are interested in taking over the role please contact the office, 01461 204100.
Thanks to Derek, Josh S & Lorna in the office for their continued help dealing with member bookings, club competitions, opens, visitors, shop sales, queries etc.
Finally, several points I must address as Captain.
I have had reports of several near misses on the access road to the course. Please drive cautiously when arriving at or leaving the club and be considerate of other road users.
Pace of play. Members should be courteous and allow quicker playing groups the opportunity to play through.
Members must treat the clubs’ employees with respect. If a member wishes to get involved in the organisation and running of the club, they can apply to join the management Committee. You can also write to the Management Committee if you have any topics, you would like them to discuss.
