Captains Update March 2026

Thank you to those who attended the club AGM in February and for giving me the honour of becoming the new Club Captain.

I am very grateful that Ann Robison has become my vice-captain and I look forward to working with the Committee over the coming year.

I would like to thank George, Allan, Stephen, and Liam for their work over the winter. The work carried out during these months is all for the future benefit of your course. I’m pleased to announce that the recruitment process has now been completed and that Ben Carmichael will be joining the greens team on a 2-year apprenticeship.

Thanks to Josh, James, Tomasz and Lynn for their work in the clubhouse. Additionally, thanks to Derek, Lorna, Josh S & Darren for their work in the office.

A topic from the AGM and something that previous Captains have raised is the use by members of the BRS booking system. If you have booked a tee time and then decide that you will not be playing, please ensure you delete the booking from your BRS app as soon as possible. This then allows other members the opportunity to book this time.

I would remind members and their guests to report all instances of errant golf balls entering the caravan park, as per the signage on the 2^nd tees.

This year the club have taken the catering operation in-house. This is new territory for the club, and we would encourage members to use the catering facilities provided by our chef James.

The fixtures book for 2026 are with the printers. Members will be emailed when the fixture books are ready to collect.

This year’s Gents opening day competition will be a Shotgun 4BBB starting at 9am on Saturday March 28. Later in the day at 2pm the Ladies will start their new season. Good luck to everyone.
