March 2023 Captains Update

Dear Fellow Members

Firstly, thank you to those who attended the club AGM in February and for giving me the honour of becoming the new Club Captain.

As we all get ready for the season to start. I would like to thank George, Allan, Stephen and Liam for their work over the winter. The overwhelming feedback from members and visitors, I have spoken to, is how good the course looks and how well the greens are running.

Please do not become complacent it is every players responsibility to replace divots, rake the bunker, repair pitch marks etc. during their round.

The club like many businesses in the UK are facing up to rising costs. We are continually looking to get value for money from our suppliers and we are striving to keep price increases as low as possible in the shop and bar.

We will be hosting the ladies South Division County Jamboree on the 17, 18 & 19 June 2023. The Scottish Seniors Golf Society return to the club on the 20 & 21 April. In August we host the gents South of Scotland Strokeplay and Matchplay championships.

This year’s Gents opening day competition will be a Shotgun 4BBB starting at 9am on Saturday March 25. Later in the day at 2pm the Ladies will start their 2023 Season. Good luck to everyone for the coming season.
